In Space Grunts: Chrono Shard, a sentient Ooze is devouring the galaxy, hopping through a hijacked network of deep-space HyperGates. As part of the Space Grunts’ elite tactical unit, players deploy into procedurally generated space stations and moon bases trapped in "time bubbles." To survive, players must harness the power of the Chrono Shard, a device that allows them to manipulate time, rewrite their past mistakes, and outmaneuver a dynamic galactic threat.
Space Grunts: Chrono Shard redefines turn-based tactical gameplay by abandoning slow-paced menu navigation in favor of immediate, rapid-fire strategy. The game introduces the Chrono Loop, a persistent time-travel mechanic where items placed, resources scavenged, or environmental changes made during a run remain in place for the next attempt. Players can strategically seed the battlefield with gear and traps, effectively collaborating with past versions of themselves to conquer the future.
